One Day Photography Classes  at our Beaconsfield Studio

Full days  9.45am - 5.00pm      or      Two half days 2-6pm 

 

Outline

Before the day we ask you what you want to achieve and slant the different photography sessions to enable you to achieve your objectives.

There is indoor and outdoor work throughout the day.

Come with warm waterproof clothes and comfortable shoes.

Learn what the camera does, how to use it and how to find more exciting pictures.

Become more at ease with your camera.

 

a Put technical aspects into practice by taking photos and evaluating them to see how they work.

09.45 – 10.00               Arrival & drinks

10.00 – 11.00               Introduction:

Investigate the various functions of the camera

Why you should use manual rather than automatic settings

Getting the best out of mode/scene settings if you don’t have full manual

                                    Shooting what’s in your mind & planning your photos            

11.00 – 11.15                Break for drinks

11.15 – 12.15               Landscapes

                                    How to use ISO/ASA, shutter speed, aperture

Panning moving subjects to get the impression of speed

12.15 –1.15                  Still Life & Graphic Images

Making the viewpoint add to the story you want to get across.

Techniques that accentuate the graphic qualities of everyday objects

                                    Use of light available in the home and round about

                                    Wide or telephoto, low depth of field, camera shake, image quality and lighting

1.15 – 1.45                    Lunch – Bring a packed lunch

1.45 – 3.00                   People & Animals

a). Portraits in the studio. Electronic flash vs. available light.

Importance of eye contact, interaction and direction when

photographing people and animals

b). Hard lighting: Colour balance, camera modes vs. manual,

     bracketing, exposure lock. Dramatic and graphic effects.

3.00 – 4.00                   Review

Question time and practical answers using your camera

Short introduction to using Photoshop to alter and manipulate your images.

4.00 – 5.00                    End of day session

                                    Practical session from the questions and answers of previous class.
