Frequently Asked Questions
|
What camera should I buy? Three main types of camera; Compact, Semi Compact and DSLR. Within each type there's a very wide range of cameras & prices.First decide what you want to do with your camera before you make your choice as no one camera will do everything well. COMPACT Small & easy to carry so you're likely to have it with you when you need it. Some can be very limited in their functions. Check the delay in shooting on the camera. It can be annoying if the subject flies away and leaves you with a blank image:)
Buy a compact with manual settings if you can as you will get more out of it. SEMI COMPACT Canon Powershot These are a great range of cameras. Fairly small and easy to carry around. A flip screen for low angle and unusual shots. Has a great zoom range of x12 Magnification. Although it has the full functionality of DSLR cameras there is a limited potential to grow with you. Zoom operates like a compact so there are limitations to what you can do with your lens.
DSLR Nikon or Canon are my favourites. These have a good zoom range for most subjects. They're easy to understand and have great quality and versatility. If you want to take photos of wildlife you would need to buy an additional long lens. What about lenses? When looking for a lens you need to consider why you want and what you're going to shoot. Then look at the specifications. Feel free to then email me specific questions and I will try to help.
